Birth Doula
What is a Doula?
The word doula is a Greek word meaning
women’s servant. Women have been serving other women in childbirth for many centuries and have proven that support from another woman has a positive impact on the labor process. Now it means a woman who is trained in childbirth who can help birthing women and couples navigate their way through the journey of childbirth and beyond.
Postpartum Doula
What's a postpartum doula?
A postpartum doula provides evidenced based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother–baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care.
A postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after bringing a new baby home. Research shows that mamas, daddies and babies have an easier time adjusting if there is someone there to support them.
